Seacoast Snow Park, the winter version of Seacoast Fun Park opens today, December 26. YES! There’s a few public sledding areas, but snow park has one of the best snow tubing around.
Some of the good hills in the Southern Maine area to go sledding and tubing are next to roads; in fact, one of the better ones that I can think of is next to a main road. I don’t think I need to tell you why this might not be the most attractive place to go sledding, especially with younger kids.
I came here once with my family when I was very little–I had fun up until my brother ran over me with his tube. I swear he aimed for me because brothers are evil. Despite this, it’s a great place for kids (just watch out for the mean big brothers).
Even when there’s no snow on the ground, the snow park is open for tubing since they make their own snow, so consider this even if it hasn’t been the best white winter.
If it gets too cold out, the Goodies Cafe and the arcade is open to warm up with some hot chocolate.
Be sure to look into the site for safety regulations. And as a good tip as I have learned don’t stand at the bottom of the hill.
